One of the "legends" of Excel, Dan is one of the hardest working players in Excel History. Dan worked hard to improve each day at De La Salle and eventually worked his way into the starting lineup starting on a Nor-Cal Championship Team and a State Finalist Team. A National Honor Society member, an amazing Student-Athlete with a 4.2 gpa. Dan "walked on" at Rice before earning a full basketball scholarship prior to his sophomore season. As a freshman, Dan played in just six games, as a sophomore, he had his career high of 5 points and 3 rebounds. He played over 100 minutes before committing his first turnover! During his junior campaign, Dan had his career high of 6 points and finished the season with a strong 1.6 assist to turnover ratio while averaging 5.2 minutes per game. His senior season has seen Dan take his game to a different level as he has emerged as the Owls starting point guard and a fine three point shooter. An amazing Student-Athlete, Dan has been named to the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Role in each of his first three campaigns. Dan is respected for his amazing work ethic and his commitment to his coaches and his team. Known for his solid defense and ability to take charges!!!!
